Sep 04, 2015 In Djay, you probably have to go in to MIDI Configure Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2 (or press ⌘Y), and from the MIDI Configuration drop down, make sure the one with all the mappings is chosen (for me, this was TraktorKontrolS4MK2 with underscores rather than spaces).

you can control anything on t2 with keyboard,
even if the target market is the no mapping one,
the option is there
(not to mention there is no need for real mapping involved with maschine as it is a ni product so integration is more seamless)
according to ni site, s2 comes with full t2 pro included so there is no upgrade needed to get all the features (i do think even the le versions are able to do midi mapping but not sure on that, in any case it is not relevant for the s2 / s4 specific cases)
i agree the s2 price seems less interesting than s4:
for example, when i recently considered getting one to replace my vci mk1 i would be able to get it for 899usd with traktor scratch pro upgrade included (but during the process i decided to try the twitch, silly me)
serato now seems to think it is ok to sell you the itch 1 to 1 integration concept and then forces you to use the keyboard to enjoy one of the poster features on new version of software, bummer
regarding xone:
i fully agree, seems an awesome controller,
the recent price cuts made it just an unbelievable option,
i guess i still cannot believe i got myself a twitch when i could get a xone for 100usd more :(
(did not know about price cuts when i ordered mine and had it brought from usa to brazil)
at least to compensate i was able to help a fellow forum user to ditch the twitch idea and get a xone instead, i think i made a friend :)
