M-audio X Session Pro Traktor 2 Mapping

Oct 14, 2009  Visit edgey.com to support this video. These are the mappings I have come up with for using my X-Session Pro with Traktor, without the need to use a mouse - and to still have some of the advanced. MIDI Controller: M-AUDIO X-Session Pro Author: Kelvin Yap This is my custom mapping for the M-AUDIO X-Session Pro USB MIDI mixer for Traktor Pro 2. The mappings are pretty basic and follow the labels on the physical unit itself like Volume A, Volume B, Play/Pause, Cue, Bass, Mid, Treble equalizers etc.

Filter: M-AUDIO XSESSION PRO
Nowadays, more and more DJs are using VirtualDJ Pro Full to be able to use digital music instead of traditional vinyls or CDs. Still, using digital music doesn't mean you'll have to sit behind a computer and use a mouse and keyboard.M-audio x session pro traktor 2 mapping software
VirtualDJ Pro Full can be used as a stand-alone software in case of emergency, but to truly unleash its power, you might want to connect it to some dedicated hardware.
VirtualDJ Pro Full is natively compatible with an impressive list of hardware from many manufacturers. And, with the full MIDI compatibility and the open plugin architecture, it can connect to virtually anything.
You will find below a small list of the best hardware for digital DJ one can find on the market today. Many of which come with a version of VirtualDJ Limited Edition (LE) so you can immediately start using your controller.SessionMapping
But, if you don't find what you need here, keep in mind that VirtualDJ Pro Full is compatible with many other controllers, mixers, etc. on the market.
Depending on how and where you mix, you might consider different options:
  • Mobile DJs will probably want to get all-in-one controllers, easy to transport and install anywhere.
  • Resident DJs will probably want rackmount or table-top controllers (depending on the space available in the booth).
  • Turntablists will want a TimeCode solution and a good sound card interface.
  • Beginners will be more interested in all-in-one solutions.

Congrats,
If you found this thread, you hit the jackpot. The link below is for a working midi mapping of the DJ Tech iMix for use with Virtual DJ. No one seems to have a clue how to program the jog wheels but persistence pays off as I figured it out (yes, it's on the midi map below).
I did NOT assign all the buttons, I have no use for loops, effects, momentary pitch bend, track search seems useless with the working jog wheels and I made some changes to suit my needs, but the basics are all set up for you.
You will notice that the LED lights will NOT light up on the iMix. Until Virtual DJ decides to support LED lights or create their own working mapping for it, the lights will not work.
I just got the iMix today and so far, I have to say it's a rock solid controller for the price. Very fast, well built, accurate and a nice design. Who cares if it's plastic? I've had nothing but bad luck with metal cases, especially in the winter with ESD.
I also owned a Behringer BCD3000 for about a month until some tard spilled beer in it when I wasn't looking. That unit was NOT accurate, built crappy and the included a sound interface kept crashing. GARBAGE! I replaced that with a M Audio X-Session Pro as I needed a quick and cheap unit to keep working. Not bad and if you're just starting out, It's an inexpensive starting point that gets the job done. I'll be hanging on to it as backup in case I run into that tard again.
Of the three units, the iMix is superior in quality and accuracy. I don't do clubs these days, but if I did, I'd have upgraded to the iMix Reload that has touch sensitive jog dials. Other than that, I think it's a nice unit for the price and I wish you all good luck in your DJ ventures!
