Since doing a fresh install things are a little better with dropouts only occuring occasionally but they still do occur. They do appear to go away after playing for some time...
Another problem now occuring is that the program now freezes everytime I load a track onto a deck. This does not cause dropouts or sound problems but everytime I load a track the software freezes for a few seconds before loading the track. This is extremely worrying as it feels like the software could crash at any point in time. This should not happen on what is considered to be one of the most powerful laptops money can buy, especially on a completely fresh install....
I really want this software to work but I sincerely believe that there are issues, because I have tried Traktor and Virtual DJ with absolutely no dropouts or program freezes but when I use Itch, it is another story...
I am now even more concerned that now the Xone DX has been discontinued that the support will also cease to exist. I am now thinking that I have wasted both time and money on Allen and Heath and Itch and should have gone for the Native Instruments S4 controller with Traktor Pro.
I will try using the original software that came with the controller, i think it's version 1.6 or 1.7 but this seems silly to me because the latest version should be the best version.
I sincerely hope that the Serato team is looking at all the issues with software glitches and audio problems because after doing a lot of reading, the problems are there in plain site not only on these forums but also around numerous other DJ discussion sites. But these issues do not seem to be getting resolved....
Perhaps there are less issues on a Mac which I am also led to believe from reading around but I do not feel the need to upgrade and/or downgrade my hardware(PC) in order for software to work correctly as it is advertised to work on BOTH PC and Mac.
Perhaps your PC developers need to work a little more on fixing the current and obvious latency and sound glitches on the Windows platform...
I will come back with results from my tests of the earlier versions of Itch.
My Hardware:
Alienware M17x
Core i7 2760 Quad Core Processor
12GB Ram
500GB Hybrid SSD Hard Drive
GTX 480 1.5GB Graphics
Allen and Heath Xone DX Controller

All has been working fine for months up until a couple of weeks ago. I get random sound drop-outs, a glitch where the audio (digital and vinyl) is all distorted, or the the software just freaks out.
